Cody Simpson is back with new music! He recently released two new singles, “Baby Blue” and “When It Comes To Loving You.” The last time he released new songs was in 2024 and over the past few years, he’s been focusing on competitive swimming and qualified for his first Olympics Trials for 2021. Now, he’s returning to music and kicking off his new era, and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve been supporting him since 2010 and I’m obsessed with his new singles.
“Baby Blue” gives off nothing but positive vibes and it’s the perfect anthem for this summer! With smooth vocals and a catchy melodic rhythm, this song is breezy and vibrant. One thing I love about Simpson’s music is how he incorporates his passion for the ocean into his music. You can hear it through his music, whether it’s through the lyrics or the song’s laid-back melody that makes you want to go to the beach and just relax, but also dance. As an ocean lover and surfer, I truly feel connected to his music. “Baby Blue” is an uplifting, sun-drenched track and it instantly puts me in a good mood! Simpson also made a music video where he’s dancing carefree down the streets of Los Angeles, and it flawlessly captures the essence of the song. Blast “Baby Blue” with the windows down or on your next beach trip!
“When It Comes To Loving You” has a soulful, 80’s synth-pop vibe. This is a sweet romantic song that expresses having unconditional love for someone. The empowering and gritty music video is inspired by Fight Club (1999) and how Simpson would do anything to fight for love. Simpson also put up a billboard for the music video in Los Angeles, which I visited!

I’m so glad Cody Simpson is releasing new music and hopefully he’ll play some shows or go on tour soon. His artistry amazes me and it’s inspiring how he puts 100% of his passion into anything he does.
