Waterparks are back with “Red Guitar”

Waterparks might just be the biggest band of tomorrow. Their magnetic pull has attracted a growing cohort of devoted fans who have propelled the Houston, TX-raised genre-busting collective to internationally sold out headline tours including a 2024 tour that saw them sell out the likes of The Palladium in Los Angeles and Terminal 5 in New York, and saw their 2023 album Intellectual Property to #1 on Billboard’s Alternative Album chart in the US + Top 10 Album chart in US & UK. Today, they return with their anthemic new single, “Red Guitar” ahead of their performances on the main stage at the UK’s Reading and Leeds Festivals in August.

“Red Guitar” showcases a detailed and high energy production - Waterparks continues to make every song unique by experimenting with different sounds throughout their musical journey. It’s a phenomenal song and I’m so excited for more new music!

On the track, frontman Awsten Knight sings: “If I could check back in on me as a kid / be a crystal ball / he can see how we did / knowing what I know. And remembering him, it'd probably go something like this…” Listen to “Red Guitar” here: http://waterparks.lnk.to/redguitarPR

“This is the first song back from the best band in the world, Waterparks,” quips Knight. “After a year of trials and tribulations, we have arisen from the smoke, like Captain America — maybe Iron Man instead. I haven’t seen most of those movies. However Infinity War ended, probably. RIP Ant Man. This is the best song from a band in the last 10 years, ask anyone. Either this song or the next one will be our biggest one, again, ask anyone. RIP Iron Man. Stream the song until we make physicals and then go buy one of those. It’s a plaque attack, baby. I love you. God help us all. Thanks!”

Waterparks is Awsten Knight (vocals, guitar), Otto Wood (drums) and Geoff Wigington (guitar). They have graced the covers of V Man, Alternative Press (twice! – in 2023 and 2021), and Kerrang!, among others and they recently announced their new album deal with BMG along with new management via Range Media Partners.

Look for much more from the band in the coming months, including news on tour dates and a new album!
